Our independent Distillery is based in Ellesmere, Shropshire which is known as the Lake District of Shropshire ever since those clever ancient Britons found that the magnificent glacial Mere was an ideal place for some genuine rest and relaxation. You know the sort of thing – a spot of fishing, gentle boating and gazing at the views and wildlife – Perfect with a G & T ! With picturesque meres that are set in typically English Estate parkland in a gently rolling landscape, the perfect location for our family owned and run craft distillery. Our first gin, Shire Gin was launched on 1st July 2018, followed by our Shire Spiced Gin in December 2018 with our third edition Shire Cherry Gin being released in February 2019. In July 2019, returning back from a family holiday, we were over the moon to be informed we had been awarded not 1 but 2 International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) awards.
