Our gin journey began in 2013 when co-founder Matt was diagnosed with type one diabetes. Swapping out their regular beers for gin in order to reduce their sugar intake, Matt and his wife Lynsey became passionate about premium craft gins, sourcing and sampling unique drops from all over the UK and beyond. After spending years tasting, comparing and obsessing over ingredients, the pair set their sights on creating their own bespoke gin; one that leaned on the unique local ingredients around them to produce an exceptional spirit that was easy on the environment. And so No.186 was born. We tested and tweaked until we landed on the perfect premium gin crafted from quality local ingredients, sustainable practices and nothing else. Best of all, our Berries and Honey Gin, is naturally sweet thanks to berries and honey sourced locally. That means Matt (and everyone else) can stop worrying about processed sugary spirits and concentrate on enjoying a better gin experience. With our roots in Glasgow and Lancashire, we're now excited to take No.186 further than our Manchester bar and share it with gin lovers across the UK - delivering the Spirit of the North in every glass, wherever it's poured. We feel exceptionally lucky to have had the opportunity to taste and develop our dream drop, made possible by the natural resources that surround us.
